The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is a party for the extreme militant, nationalist military-style Marxist-Leninist, whose conceptual mindset is focused on taking agrarian land without any form of compensation and placing the economy under the direct rule of the state. Here communism is the creed, yet fascism is the execution from policy to action.
The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) believes in a peaceful and crime-free society where a substantially lower uniform tax rate should exist. They wish to embark on a marked improvement in the value of the Rand and greater employment and self-employment opportunities. They also have a policy of high growth rates for the South African economy and improved quality of life for all, especially, the poor. This has in time spoken convincingly to the hearts of the marginalised masses in Madibeng.
The recent upheavals in various communities over either service delivery issues, municipality border issues or political rivalry between different parties and within parties have seen an unprecedented spate of attacks on journalists covering these events. Such attacks have been from communities and the police, the latter insisting on deleting of pictures from cellphones and threats of assaults. At various points we have issued statements decrying this phenomenon.
There exists a tendency in Madibeng for citizens to spoil their vote due to disillusionment. Community members that complain the protest the most are usually the people that do not vote. In fact, they have no right to complain and protest – and as for those that did vote this incompetent government into power – it is actually all your fault. You as the voters are the orchestrators of your own fate and demise.
The announcement of the local government election on 3 August, 2016, coincided with a number of reports reflecting the poor state of our municipalities. Most significantly, the auditor-general recently reported that the financial health of 92% of the country’s municipalities is a cause for concern or requires intervention. Only 19% of all municipalities received clean audits and the irregular expenditure figure climbed to nearly R15 billion.

At around 16:00, on Sunday, 26 June 2016, Gas Mart’s Brits business quarters was destroyed by a vehicle driving through their shop. The business suffered considerable loss.
The project has contributed to social economic upliftment of Jericho and has increased the security of water supply to the communities of Jericho in Madibeng Local Municipality.
