Mr. Lawrence Maluleke, accused of always portraying himself as someone who has more cash than any other councillor in Madibeng as well as having influence in awarding security tenders, has been kicked out of office.

It is alleged that Mr. Maluleke used his position at the municipality as Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Safety and Security to influence the appointment of his children as employees of the municipality.

After so many allegations and accusations, at the beginning of August 2015, youth from around Madibeng forced the MMC (Maluleke) out of office. Though the MMC burst into tears, that did not stop them from executing their mission.

This happened before Madibeng former Municipal Manager, Monde Juta was released from his position and redeployed as Acting Muncipal Manager for Ditsobotla Local Municipality on the 15th of August 2015.

Madibeng spokesperson, Sipho Nkosi said, “other changes that the Special Council resolved on include the following: Councillor Lawrence Maluleke as MMC of Public Safety, Fleet and Facility Management has been replaced by Councillor Marcus Machete and Councillor Petrus Abram Phetlhe was appointed as MMC for Inter-Governmental Relations and Communications.
